A few pictures from yesterday's MLK parade on MLK Boulevard in Anacostia, DC. Schlepping around the heavy Mamiya RZ67 was exhausting! I used a flash and underexposed both the flash and the ambient light by one stop each, giving nicely balanced shots, I think. This is how it works: with flash in AUTO, it tells me that f/8 would be the correct exposure. So I set the aperture to f/11, underexposing by one f-stop. Then I read from my exposure meter what the appropriate exposure time for f/11 would be for the available daylight, on that particular day 1/125 sec (EV14). So I set the exposure to 1/250s, underexposing the ambient light also by one f-stop. The sum of the underexposures flash and underexposed ambient light gives perfectly exposed negatives. 😀
