Hi, i wonder if in this creative world we´re living in, somebody invented a medium format point and shoot camera...

;)

My buddy has the Ga645zi. It is pretty awesome.

I have a fuji 645 zi. I think it is the closest u will get to a p&s in medium format.

If u don't want a zoom lens then any if the fuji af 645 will be a good option.

Another vote for the Fuji 645. I have a GA645 (late non-"i" 60mm version) and the lens is just amazing - very sharp and as far as I can see on high-res scans, lacking in CA. Super-easy to use with motorized wind-on, surprisingly effective hybrid AF system and pretty much fool-proof (or at least fool-resistant ;) ) metering. The shutter goes to 1/700 beyond f/9.5 which is useful. Never used the built-in flash so I can't comment on that. But it's really no bulkier/heavier than a "pro" manual-focus 35mm SLR, just a different shape, and the collapsing lens makes it easy to carry.

GA645Wi. The lens is a magnificent Fuji version of the Biogon. As others have said the metering is bang-on and the autofocus is accurate. My only complaint is that the camera is a pain if you want to manually override focus or exposure settings. But used as a point and shoot it is unequalled.

Kodak Hawkeye Flash 2 1/4x2 1/4 on 620 film. A simple meniscus lens and single speed (1/30) shutter with bulb and a non-adjustable (f11) aperture. A brilliant finder and lack of focusing mechanism made it a simple to operate device. 120 film can be used if a 620 spool is used for the take-up.

Millions were manufactured in the US, Canada and France. http://kurtmunger.com/kodak_brownie_hawkeyeid149.html

Heinz Waaske, the inventor of the Rollei 35, created a study for a medium format Minox.
I was never realised, but that would have been another dream camera!

It´s more a rangefinder than a P&S, but close enough to be mentioned here (to honor Waaskes genius!)

Man that would have been awesome!!!

The Holga and Diana are medium format p&s cameras....
