Hey Peter,
Actually the game is over now...it was a charity fundraiser game for the Asian Tsunami Disater played at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.
The teams were made up of the best players in the world, an ACC Asian team comprising Indian, Pakistan, SriLankan and Bangladesh players VS ICC World team made up of players from Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, England and the West Indies.
Not only was this a great way of raising money, I think somewhere around $14million AUD, but it will have been one of the only times that such an "ALL STAR" team with all the current greats in cricket have played.
I only wish the "Little Master" Sachin Tendulkar had batted....he might have evened things up a bit. Unfortunately the Asian team lost but it was a pretty awesome game...I was watching on TV.....REALLY WISH I HAD BEEN THERE!😀
Final score was RoW 8/344 vs Asia 232 in front of a MCG crowd of 80,000 and a TV audience of over 1 billion in 122 countries.
Be cool if anyone got some photos from the event, I think there would have been a pretty festive atmosphere with all the supporters of the various teams represented.
