Francisco, Congrats on the find! If your M5 needs any meter repair or tuning, there is no one better than Sherry K. to do the work. She adores the M5 and she does bring them back to full bloom. For everyday light, it is worth the money to have that meter repaired and re-calibrated for 1,5 volt batteries.

Brian, I've been looking for one that costs less than my mortgage payment or a Nikon D3X... but so far, no such luck.

Thomas, Sherry will get my M5 for sure. She's really quick, and apparently the expert on M5 bodies.

The Wein cells last a long time. I can't remember the last time i changed it out. I have had a dud before but, I guess that can happen! Great camera. Probably one of the top metered Leica's if you ask me. Good luck.:) I think they all need a match needle meter.:D

Nah, that was the IIIa that got me in. Everyone knows that REAL Leicas don't have bayonet mounts.

(Cue owner of pre-1932 Leica saying, "REAL Leicas don't have rangefinders...)

Seriously, I'm sure SolaresLarrave will have great fun with it.

My newly acquired M5 will be here tomorrow... sometime. I already contacted Sherry and the project is to keep the camera for a week, then send it to her and let her work her magic on it.

Of course, as she says, she wants to talk to me before doing anything. Good that estimates are free!
