Oooh stop it!
all I'm saying is, there seem to be a lot of threads on the forum about problems with knobs (polishing, cleaning, replacing, and even losing), and complaining about not being able to find the right button ...
Oooh stop it!
Biologically true. Culturally, at the very best highly disputable. As Frances says, not even remotely true in our case.. . . Partners are chosen for the chance that you sucessfully raise offspring.. . .
...
She also said, "When I first saw the question, I thought it was badly phrased. The most attractive hobby as far as American men are concerned appears to be watching football. This may explain why I'm not married to an American." ...
Cheers,
R.
Dear Klaus,Sorry for the bad phrasing but this is pretty close to how they asked it on the air, at least as far as I remember.
And I can't imagine that even for American women guys with the hobby "watching football" seem attractive. As far as the men are concerned that hobby for sure will be in the top three.
Dear Klaus,
She wasn't blaming you: she realized that the question was relayed as originally sloppily phrased. As she pointed out, the most attractive hobby for American men appears to be watching football, but this is a long way from asking "What is the hobby that women find most attractive when a man pursues it?" In response to the latter question, you are of course quite right that it is profoundly unlikely to be football.
What's even more amusing, of course, is that Americans don't even play much football, whether soccer or rugger. Instead they blunder into one another while wearing armour. A friend who attended a school in northern California where they played both rugby and American "football" said that his favourite fixture every year was when the rugger team played the American "football" team, with one half of the game played to one set of rules and the other to the other. The result of the game was always the same, apparently: a modest win for the rugger team in one half, and a thundering win for the rugger team in the other.
I can't stand either sport. Or soccer. Or baseball (a game played by little girls in the UK, under the same "rounders"). Or cricket, though my first wife was the captain of her school cricket team because, as she explained, "It's the only game where you break for tea."
Cheers,
R.
By God, them's fightin' words right there, Mr. Hicks.
There are only two things we like better down here in Texas more than a good game of kick-ass football- makin' love to our beautiful Texas women, and BS'n people.🙄
Ha! Smart man you. I never bought roses because baking and serving a loaf of bread was almost 100%. It should be Photography because most women can't resist (stereotypical) bad boys, and money is easy to find from other, merely hopeful, professions.
Edit: (Actually checks the poll.) Yes, musicians, the archetypal bad boys. I was thinking "Blow Up", but then I'm so old I've forgotten how to be a bad boy...
It's not photography...

Who cares. Live for yourself. If women don't like it, too bad. You have one life to live, don't blow it just to make someone you don't need want you.
