I'm trying to find a 6x6 negative carrier for my Opemus 4 enlarger. Does anyone know where to find one, or am I better off trying to get hold of a second hand enlarger complete with both 35mm and 6x6cm carriers in one go?

Sorry, apart from the great auction site, I'm not sure where you would find one. I do have a complete Opemus 6 complete with 50mm Rodenstock and 35mm glassless and 6x6 glassed carriers that I'm thinking of selling, if you are interested.

Nova darkroom is/was the UK distributor for Meopta stuff in the past. Chances are they still have some stock of Meopta accessories. I purchased a 6x9 light mixing chamber for my Magnifax from them last year, and they were very helpful.

If that fails, you might try Fotoimpex in Germany, who still have some supplies of Meopta accessories and spares.

Meopta stuff is regularly offered on Ebay (at least Ebay Germany). If you find a complete Opemus and shipping cost is not prohibtive, this might be another route to source parts. Or buy a complete Magnifax 4/4a and be ready for everything up to 6x9

In my enlarger graveyard I have a Opemus 4 gathering dust, but alas without the carrier you need. However, the 6x6 'carrier' in my Opemus IIa (the one I actually use) is nothing more than two etched glass plates that slide in place instead of the 35mm carriers.

Many thanks for your help! I have managed to source one from Nova Darkroom (glassless). However if you are looking to get rid of your glass carrier John, I might be willing to take it off your hands. Do you think the 6 is an improvement from the 4 – I know the focussing on my enlarger seems a bit suspect...
