New York Mermaid Parade Saturday June 23rd

I'm going to make an effort to be there. I have to teach a workshop near rockefeller center that ends st 1pm. Will take the F train in from there. Hopefully will be there around 2-2:30pm.

I bought a Contax IIa and I as hoping to have it ready for the parade, but it's still in repair at Marty's in Forest Hills. Oh well, I guess I'll be bringing my Canon A-1 like last year.

Sorry, guys, but I would not be able to make it to CI this Saturday. I have someone install a staircase in my house, and they are doing me a big favor, so, I will have to stay home.
By the way, I really enjoyed NYC June meet-up, and it was a pleasure meeting everyone.
John, I think that BP Leica II adds a little more than 2% of coolness.:)

I actually didn't meet him (or Moni, as I think the guy is called). I dropped off the camera with his assistant, and all correspondence on phone was with her.

Yes, Moni. He is a very nice guy. Very much old school camera repair tech. He will fix your camera, doesn't matter which one.

Some gents are opening a brew pub just down the street. We should have a NYC meeting up here in Hamilton Heights once it opens. It's tough for me to meet downtown as I have a 3 year old. Plenty of "cheap" eats around!

one of these days...
...gonna make a pilgrimage to this fun/wacky/broiling/etc event...only about 1,800 miles away or so : - )

hmmm, mebbe we could start one in galveston, texas...got the broiling heat, the sand, a seawall, lots o' little used streets in the historic center...masses 'o creative people on-island and all around...and i do have some reallly white feet hiding in my merrels...

breathe, relax and enjoy.

These parades are always hot, miserable, and full of mentally-ill exhibitionists.

Relentless, scorching sun, too many screaming people, all with cameras taking the same dull photos.

I was dragged there twice. Never again. Trust me.

hehehe... have to Agree
in the past I have gone for the Fun of it
but the Fun does wear Thin

This weekend I probably will end up being there and being Dragged
because Eric & Louis wants to Go :p

Keith,

We like Puck Fair, but it would be great to experiment. I like change once in a while.

Currently and most recently I got a Pentax P67II. Not sure if I should call it Godzilla, Igor, Magnum or Junior. I downsized a lot of 35mm. Had three Barnacks (two of them black paint from the 30's) for less than two weeks, and I feel like I day traded cameras because I didn't put any film through any of those Barnacks. Oh-well.

BTW Tung once brought his dog to a Meet-Up. LOL.

Great shots phil!! Really like the entire series. Can't get any sunburn for me but i still felt a little tired at the end. Wayyyyyyy too many photographers yesterday. I've developed 2 rolls from the 8 total i shot yesterday. Will post some pics as soon as i have them scanned.

BTW did you stay till the end? i left around 2

Thanks!
I left around 1-ish. Was just getting too hot and hungry. When I sat on the subway and leaned against the rail on the edge of the seat, I discovered my right arm was nice and crispy. Well, it was definitely over-done for my rather fair complexion.

Due to illness I couldn't make it there but hope to attend next year.
Any suggestions for location(s) with best vantage point for photos?

TIA,
Chris

Very nice Tung!
Makes me want to get a ND filter. I haven't used one in years for some reason.

That Noctilux is indeed special.
