Meter Suggestions Needed

Another vote for the Weston Master (IV or V) and go the route of having George Milton refurbish a non-working one.

The Weston is atually quite compact and easily fits into a pocket unlike a Lunasix, for example.

I haven't used the VCII but was thinking of getting one for my Canon L1, however when I measured it I realised it would stick out over the front of the camera so decided against it.

Actually it's not too bad - a couple of mm or so.

Francisco---give the Sekonic L-308S a try if you don't mind a hand held meter. The L-208 was just too small and I found it would give several different readings if you didn't push the little button just right. The 308 is much better and does a bang up job with the M3. Those 2 were made for each other! THe 308 is around $180.00 from B+H.

Another thumb's up for the Sekonic L-308S. If you want a lightweight, compact, accurate, modern meter with digital readout, this one is sweet.

I have three meters, but really only use two, the Pentax Spotmeter and the Sekonic L208.

The Gossen Luna-Pro Digital F gets used every once in a great while to make sure the battery doesn't need replacing. Personally, I just don't care for the LCD readout as much as I thought I would when I bought it, although it is far more flexible with options than the others.

After all this talk I think I'm going to see whether my Weston Master IV can be repaired. Couple posters mentioned George Milton - is he still doing meter repairs? Haven't been able to reach him at QLM's phone.
