A friend just posted this on another forum...it was a while ago, but wow. I really like these.

I saw some of his prints in person in Shanghai (actually, I think I wrote about it before on this forum). They are absolutely incredible. The actual prints are enormous, and show more detail as you get closer. Amazing!

A friend showed a slideshow some time ago, and I found it utterly boring. Not the work itself, thats pretty good (umm more than that). I mean those buildings..repetitive repetitive repetitive.

If you look at one of the huge prints in person it is breathtaking. You start out at a distance looking at the form, pattern and shape of the buildings. Then as you get closer you start to see the human element. Faces in the windows. Laundry. Subtle differences. It really is amazing to see.

not saying this is a bad project. its wonderfull! it really works! the sight opresses me somehow. the pictures get into me. how on earth are people crammed in there?

If I didn't live in HK, I would think that the picture above was doctored. But buildings are really close to each other here. The architecture is in general not very inspiring, but put together they exist as a fascinating statement. But I do agree with Stelios...it's really depressing looking at these flats. And living in one.
