how much do you like the m8 now?
You know, Joe, image-wise I really like it, and I like it more and more.
is changing over to the m9 worth it? will the images really be that much better. i know many like the idea of full frame but having a crop factor has not slowed me down at all...
For landscape, it would, I think, be a big plus at the wide end.
Thanks for responding to my post!

makes PURRfect sense to me Joe....
the crop factor never bothered me with the RD1 and the Brief time I had the M8
I'm even considering trying the M8/8.2 again
after never really giving it a chance ..(.just a week)
I quite liked alot of pixs I saw here on RFF w/ the M8
The M9 would be cool BUT Totally UNNECESSARY for Me
My only Fear its just another workflow
I don't mind developing Film & I am now waiting for TBarker's scanner to arrive
so if I do digital it has to be a Minimal Process otherwise forget it

I do think the same way as you. The M9 is good (so is the M8/8.2) but an overkill for what I am going to use it for. $6k+ gets me just the new M9 body only!!
I guess it is all a matter of choice and how much we are willing to pay. When I take photos to satisfy my soul, film is still my choice. For convenience, my 5DII does a tremendously good job with SOOC jpegs.
