Minolta 7s

I like mine. Big, clear viewfinder. Great lens with a common filter size. Simple operation. Don't know what else to say about it other than enjoy.

PS: My avatar was taken with the 7s.

What I like about mine is the lens, the manual control, and the fact that the meter can be switched to an "off" position. My gallery has some 7s shots, done to compare it with the Konica C35 and the Olympus 35SP. Ignore the quality of the scans ... I'm not sure you can really tell the differences in the lenses as a result.

What I don't like:

* Size and shape. It's not as confortable in my hand as the SP.
* Shutter sound. Sounds a bit more "clangy"; the body isn't as solid as the SP, so I think there are some resonances there. But that doesn't affect picture quality, as far as I can tell.
* The off switch for the meter is on the ASA dial, therefore you have to reset the ASA when you turn the camera back on. If you have any film in the camera, make sure you remember what it is!
* While the viewfinder is big and bright, there is SO much space around the framelines, it can be distracting. But that's a minor niggle.

Just handle it once or twice; never owned one. Shutter is clangy, though the GSN and Canonet but seem a bit metallic as well. I really liked the VF/RF; very easy to focus with. EV readout kind of irritating; either I'll guestimate or I want to be able to meter/change settings without looking back and forth between the VF and lens barrel.
