Minolta Dimage 5400 Film carrier

I can't get my scanner to take hold and load the film carrier. I tried re-installing the scanner software and changing my sequence of starting the scanner, computer and software yet I still can't get the scanner to accept the film carrier. I have had no problems after making about 200 scans. I heard once about the sequence of powering up the scanner and then the computer and software can make a difference but this is the first time I had any trouble. I am using Silverfast 6 and the software initiates and recognizes the scanner. I just cant get the film carrier to load. Any suggestions?

Ok...I am going to answer my own ? for future reference if anyone runs in to this problem. The manual eject button apparently was not working when I clicked on it. I had to close Silverfast and open up the Minolta software that came with the scanner and click on the software interface's eject button. I heard the unit make a click sound which was the ejection which wasn't occurring by pressing the manual button on the front of the unit. I then closed the Minolta software interface and opened up Silverfast again and the unit then accepted the film carrier for scanning!
