I have been trying to get my scanner running for days now and nothing. My scsi card is identified, scanner shows up but Then I try and install the driver/DS elite software on XP and the file opens and freezes every time. It uses installshield, goes to 100 percent and just stops. I have tried on another computer and it worked just fine. Tried unzipping it all to USB and nothing. I just get a DS_elite.dll error. Does anyone know what might be freezing it? I believe the problem is within my own computer because all the software runs smoothly on anything else I open it on. Too bad the laptop wont take a SCSI.
thanks in advance for any tips.
cheers.

SCSI cards are notoriously picky about what hardware they will and won't work with, although the fact that you are receiving a dll error sounds like your problem is more likely to be software related.
You could try a fresh OS install (what fun!); uninstall other hardware drivers to see if you can get it to work; or try different SCSI drivers. Also, if you can get the SCSI hardware operational without installing the Minolta drivers, try a demo copy of vuescan - it should still be able to talk to the Minolta.
Good luck!

Try updating your scanner driver from here: http://ca.konicaminolta.com/support.../dimage-scanmulti/software_drivers/index.html
Make sure you log in as administrator first.
(Just to be clear: your are running on Windows XP. Vista is a whole different story). I use my F-2900 on Vista 64 and configruing it was a pain. I also started using Vuescan which I enjoy more.
