Well, title says all
I have a nice 7s with the rangefinder slightly misaligned in vertical (which is usually no problem to focus accurately). I've take apart the rewind crank and two screws in the upper cover, but still can't remove the cover.
Does somebody has any hints?
Thank in advance.

There's only the rewind crank and nut, the 2 screws, and the wind on lever. It should just come off after that.

Thank you, Greg. I forgot the wind on lever. I unscrewed it without too much trouble, but I think there is one further piece of metal fixing the cover right under the wind on lever place. Lacking the right tool, I'm stuck with that, so I'll keep "as is" ... until I figure out how to continue.

Does anyone know how to adjust the rangefinder on the 7s once the cover is off? I have one I got a couple years ago and have only used it once because the rangefinder was inaccurate. It is aligned correctly but backfocuses badly.

Anyone? I'm bumping this so it don't get lost, i'd like to fix this camera, but I don't want (can't afford) to pay someone to do it.

Hi, Christopher. I'm not 100 per cent sure, but I think you can reach the adjusting screw by removing the evident screw next to the film rails. That's the way to do it on my Ricoh 500 G, at least.
Greg, if I understand correctly, I don't have to remove this screw?
I'll give another try then.

Lock the film fork and remove the screw that holds the rewind lever and crank. Then yes, you do have to remove the nut under the rewind crank.
The wind on lever has to be removed, but there is nothing else there to be removed. Then the two top cover screws and thats it.

Chris, The rangefinder on the 7s has a lever that contacts the lens and a plate that swivels the front lens. these two items are coupled together with a pair of screws in slots. It doesn't look real easy to me.
I have a rangefinder out of the camera, I'll have a closer look at it tomorrow.
