This is similar to my last post but not similar enough in my view so I made a new thread I hope I didnt violate any rules.
Can anyone explain the difference between the Minolta Highmatic 7 vs the 7s? What does the s stand for?

Minolta HiMatic 7 vs 7s
I found out the difference. The 7s has a hotshoe for flash and has CLC metering instead of Cds metering. Correct me if I understand this wrong and for the benefit of any poor lost souls who find this post in the future but, Cds metering is spot metering and CLC metering is bottom weighted correct?

Nope, you're more than a little confused.
"Cds" specifies a type of meter cell (Cadmium Selenide as opposed to "CDS" for Cadmium Sulfide or any one of a number of other cell types) but in no way specifies any particular metering pattern or logic.
"CLC" specifies a Minolta proprietary metering logic and pattern. It supposedly monitored the scene contrast and made adjustments accordingly. To do this it would need at least two cells, with different metering patterns, to use for comparison.
I don't know what the arrangement was in the 7s, but the SRT series SLRs that had CLC metering had two cells, one a sort of center spot and one with more of a full frame averaging pattern. The earlier 7 probably just has a single cell with a roughly center weighted or very broad spot pattern.

Ok Dwig thank you very much for your insight!

Contrast Light Compensator (CLC) metering in the Himatic 7S and some SRT models includes two sensors and provides bottom/center-weighted metering.

No, I'm not part of the "grammar and spelling squad" for RFF.
It's just that you will find more information on the internet if you post the correct spelling of the model Minolta you have.
The correct spelling of that model is Himatic and will yield more positive hits if you are researching.
I don't know if you mentioned a manual, but you should be able to download manuals free for both models by searching google for:
free user guide for Minolta Himatic 7
and
free user guide for Minolta Himatic 7S
Good luck.

BTW the 7s also has the CLC system (contrast light compensation). The light meter cell is divided into two sections, and (theoretically) each of them "sees" the bottom or upper part of the field of view. The cell section which receives the lowest light will determine the exposure value.
