So one of my recent *bay purchases was for an LTM lens with an advertized LTM-M adapter.

As it turns out, the adapter turns out to be a Minolta L-Adapter rather than an M adapter. No point in complaining to the seller, who may not know the difference. However, since I don't own any Minolta SLRs, I don't know much about this adapter.

Any idea what it's worth? Is anyone here interested? Once I have an idea of an appropriate price I'll probably post a FS under the classifieds forum. Meanwhile, any value ideas and/or offers?

Hi Scott, I have Minolta SLR gear so I might be interested. It is an adapter for 3-lug Minolta bayonet to 39mm Leica screwmount?
The Minolta is a 3-lug bayonet like the Leica M-mount is a 4-lug.
thanks, Rob.

Rob,

That's what it looks like to me. It's labeled "minolta L-ADAPTER" -- it screws into the threads of an LTM lens, and it's got 3 lugs on the rear. The lug on top (lines up with the DOF scale when screwed onto a lens) has a notch in it. Presumably this is like the Canon Lens Mount Converter A -- allows LTM lenses to be mounted onto the SLR but losing infinity focus.

Strange item Scott, If I understand you it is a ring between a LTM lens and a SLR body. That means it becomes a macrolens by definition. Like an extension ring. Then it is on little use for me because I have the ultimate SLR macro lens. No macro wants or needs.
Strange item indeed.

cheers, Rob.

Rob,

That's exactly what it is. Now I have two adapters I can't use. The other is an LTM-cine adapter (I think it's C-mount -- 26mm/1inch thread). Labeled "E.Leitz New York C X"
