Hi all,
recently came across this lens and was wondering if anyone had any experience with it? How well do you think it would work on an LTM to M adapter on a Leica M2? Interesting piece...
Thanks,
Adam R.

The Super A is an interchangeable lens 35mm camera with a leaf shutter, so camera flange to focal plane distance may be different than the LTM standard and then there is the lack of an RF cam on the lens plus the mount needs an adaptor or be modifed.

It may be done if you want to spend serious money to have the lens modified and there is a shop in Japan that specialises in such mods, buy why?
There are a myriad of great 35mm lenses in native LTM,too many to count, just check what Kevin Camera has for sale to get an idea.

Chiyoko made that lens in LTM also, but apparently in very few numbers, as they are quite hard to find. Might even call it rare. In other words, if you do happen to find one, it'll cost plenty. It is a very good lens, though.

Xayraa's advice is sound - go for one of the many other 35mm LTM lenses. Or, find a working Super A and use the lens with that.

Cheers,

David

Well, maybe the OP found an LTM version of this lens? That would be neat! I'd like to see a pic of that lens.

Otherwise, an email to Bellamy (Japan Camera Hunter) to see if the Super-A version of the lens is a feasible candidate for Leica-ization. (I can't remember the name of the great lens builder he works with)

And.....Kevin's Cameras is a neat website to visit, but watch the prices of all those great lenses. I tend to look elsewhere. There are a lot of sources for lenses...ask if you want suggestions, but I suspect you already know the options.
