Minolta Uniomat Hood

Will a f:1.9/4.5cm hood work well with no vignetting on a fixed lens 1:2.8/45 minolta? I'd rather not waste a roll w/processing to find out. Thanks for any help.

You could always try a few frames with and without and compare on the same roll.

Thanks Joe I just wondered if I might be able to tell by only looking at the numbers.

there's Excel sheet on Net (hoodcalc.zip) where one can fill in lens focal length, hood diameter and depth to see if it's efficient or is causing vignetting.

If you already have hood you could check it to some extent by putting frosted tape or ground glass on film rails, if camera isn't loaded.
