I bought the traditional box of filters, lenses etc a while ago and it included these three strange items, all marked "RD272467" and individually marked "3FT", "5FT" and "9FT".The photo is an attempt to show all three and how they are made, rather military looking, imo.
Using the sun and a white piece of card I'd say the focal length of the "3FT" one was about 2 ft. All are positive lenses, btw.
The lenses are edge blacked and the holders are stamped out with rounded shoulders. The things are 37mm in dia and I'm sure you can all guess what I thought they were for at first. If it's any help the box of bits also contained some optician's trial lenses.
Any ideas anyone?
Regards, David
