It’s difficult to pinpoint the issue without inspecting it directly. The problem likely involves the door mechanism connected to the lens and the two side chains that extend when the door is opened. It is most likely related to the chains, since the lens itself is just a barrel that slides forward. You can try disassembling it from the back to check for any blockage that might be preventing the door from moving forward.
My experience with Minox is limited to extracting the lens for adaptation to LTM mounts.

Similarly, I have had a Minox GT and have a Minox GT-E but I'm no camera repair technician.
I think I had the Minox 35GT serviced by DAG once upon a time.
