Minty

This term, which I understand to mean "almost mint", seems to bother some people. I propose a different term to mean "almost mint": mintish, as in newish and noonish. Are we okay with that?

there's a guy on eBay that has a big collection of photo gear, almost all listed at a high "buy it now" price. almost all of it is designated "minty" , which besides overusing, blurs the differences in condition. Also as a very non standard term it can be misleading.

It's a twee word. I can't stand it. It's NIB, or it's Mint (opened, imperceptibly used), or it's Excellent, or some progression like that. Minty is something toothpaste is.

I love it! Look: Mint means uncirculated, unused, new and still in the box. But, what is "noorish?"

It's when they call something "Minty" but in the pictures or description you can see the wear marks, dent, surface scratches or engraving...I guess that as long as it doesn't affect the final image it's okay to call it "Minty"...

Dollars to donuts, "minty" is most likely a typo. Look at your keyboard. The "Y" key is right next to the "T" key. Some lazy slob meant to type "mint," inadvertently added the "Y," and we now have the absurd word "minty."

hahaha... this reminds me of a EX+ LTM Summaron with a description of "UG Glass". It's almost as useful as "Mostly Mint"
