Striving
Playing around tonite with the rangefinder (horizontal) adjustment to see if I can get the focus a bit sharper with the 26M lens. I've seen a few threads on the subject, with some asking about vertical adjustment. I've found that there is a vertical adjustment, for my camera at least, and some others might be similar.
Maybe this has been covered before, so pardon any repetition. The prism that moves as the lens is focused, to produce the moving image in the viewfinder, is mounted within a metal block that is itself mounted onto a block attached to the moving arm. The block holding the prism is attached and pivots on a horizontal shaft, and there are two screws that pivot the block back and forward to align the image. You have to loosen off one before tightening the other. Very small adjustments in the screws produce a big shift in the image!
Hope that helps someone! Cheers!
