Missing Menu Item?

I just noticed that when choosing Auto ISO options you can choose maximum ISO but there are no choices for MINIMUM SHUTTER SPEED. That is something the X100 has but it seems to be missing from the XP1.

Or am I missing something?

No your not missing it and everybody wants it. Hopefully in a firmware fix

I think this Fuji sets it automatically at 1:1 with lens at 35mm equivalent . So for the 35mm the minimum shutter speed will be 1/52. For the 60mm it will be 1/90 etc...
You can cheat it by changing the lens focal length in that particular menu.

It's why I choose the shutter speed and aperture I truly want to use and then set the ISO to auto....and let it ride up and down based on my choice.

Thanks for that nugget of info it is really helpful. Now that 1/52 sec exposure time I saw makes sense.

Didn't know about the cheating part...that's nice to know, but I think still should have been put in the menu system.

I pretty much shoot now like jsrockit does, let the ISO do the adjustment.

I never thought of doing it that way, but it should work. I think I'll try it.

I ran into a few slightly blurred images the other day. Remember this camera has no stabilization system and with no AA filter I think mistakes are more pronounced...in other words, I think we need good shooting technique and I know my other DSLR cameras probably made me lazy in that regard.

Since I had the 35 on, and the camera sets the shutter to 1/52 in aperture mode...I tried two different ways.

I put the shutter on 1/125 and left the lens ring on A. In that mode the camera chose 2.8 for an aperture and an ISO of 800. I then took one moving the aperture ring to 1.4 and leaving the shutter on 1/125. The camera shot that photo at ISO 1000. All levels in the photos were fine just the change in of course the DOF.

Try it...it seems to work good for me either way but I tend to be a more wide open shooter.

yes, this works fine but remember you are basically in manual mode here and the exposure compensation will not work doing it this particular way. Hopefully another firmware fix can take care of it.
