Hi,
A few months ago I sold my summicron28 asph v2 after getting 35summicron asph v1 non 6 bit and 21 super Elmar. But when I look back my best shots were with 28cron. Now I have an opportunity to get it back. My leica store has an demo 28 cron v2 and I can trade my 35 and 21 plus 200 euros to get it . Now I am waiting for the borders to open because of COVID 19 .. What do you think? And I understood that I am not that kind of person carrying two lenses and changing them everytime. 28 is my favorite angle.. need your thoughts.. thanks in advance..

Kaan, your photography is wonderful!

I enjoyed both your 28 and 35 shots. This one is particularly special - shot on your 28: https://www.flickr.com/photos/kaanozturhan/50100719106/

I personally would have a hard time trading in 2 lenses and cash (the 35 & 21 are a nice compliment) for a demo 28 lens but if you feel you would be happier and more productive with that lens? Sure, why not. And as you said, you are basically a one lens shooter (not switching in the field).

Thank you for sharing!

I think you should definitely have your 28 Summicron back. But I don't think you should give up your 35 to get it. You are liable to miss that one, too, and then what happens. It could be that you don't need, or use, or like the 21 (or maybe the 35) enough to keep it. But are you sure you won't want at least one of them back, and get caught in an endless cycle?

You don't have to carry both lenses on any given day. You can have some 35mm days, and some 28mm (or 21) days if you don't want to carry two lenses.

Two essential focal lengths for me are the 24mm and the 35mm. I could do without a 28, as long as I have a 24. I could never do without my "natural vision" 35's. But that's just me!

I’d hate to sell a lens, particularly a 21mm. The v1 28 Summicron is pretty dang good - in some ways I like it more than the v2. Its also available much cheaper. Something to think about.

But yes, get a 28. One of my favorite do a lengths and you use it well.

When looking at second-hand prices for the 21 and 35 lenses, it's not a spectacular deal. I'd wait for a better one. If you please, have a look at the Zeiss Biogon 2.8/28 as an alternative interim solution. Cheers, OtL

I reckon Out to Lunch is not out to lunch. I was stunned by the shots I’ve seen with the version 1 Summicron. Get that and save a lens, or two.

Double 0 I find the 21/35 combo far more versatile (personally) than the 28. As others have said... 2 lenses +200 euro for one lens is not a great deal. But if you can work magic with the 28mm alone....it's your decision.
