.....and you can buy an M8 or a film Leica. which do you choose and why? Leave aside the obvious convenience of digital.

Which 'obvious convience' is that? Sitting in front of the computer to edit through forty-eight versions of every shot? Or the changing batteries every other day? MP with the angled rewind crank. FIlm gets me every time.

... at least two of each of course - for backup!

Seriously though, if I can puchase it without having to put aside other things then I'd probably get an M8 w/ a fast 28mm. However, my only reason would be what you had asked to "leave aside"....

Cheers

To me, Leica = film.

I'd take a chrome M6 with a 21, 35, 50, and 90 lenses, to go in a nice, small Domke bag.

money is NO object?....I would buy a complete collection of Voightlanders all the different color bodies of each style one of each lens black and silver

oh yeah Leica stuff a film Leica all black, the Tri-Elmar and a bunch of the FAST lenses, oh wait money was no object, all the lenses and a couple of lenses.

Digital a Canon 5D with all the IS lenses they make for it.

and I will probably still shoot the bessa R4M for the wide angle without aux viewfinders :D

No object? I'd buy a full collection of Canon RF product from the Kwanon to the 7 & every lens they even prototyped. And then I'd give the remainder to charity

If money were no object, I'd get the two cameras... and then hire someone to edit my shot in front of a computer. That way I'd have more time to get out and use my cameras. ;)

I'd get a 0.85 mag M7 with a vulcanite cover but otherwise bog standard, and one of those special 50/1.4 ASPH lenses without the tab to go with it. Things being what they are though I'll probably be selling my M6 to get a CV R4A.
