By the way, great set of photos. Beautiful, sad and a bit creepy.
Reminds me of the Twilight Zone.

I remember the Twilight Zone episode (it starred Telly Savalas) and the Chuckie movies. I hated them...because I grew up with a doll that was very scary and known to move by itself. The doll was designed to stand on its own and was about 2ft tall. My grandmother treated as if it were a child. She made clothes for it and changed the clothes often.
When we got a color TV, the B&W one was moved to the room where the doll resided. One night I was forced to watch TV in that room while my grandmother visited with a friend in the den. The doll stood two or three feet from the TV and was looking at the wall to my right. I had a strange feeling that night and couldn't concentrate on the TV program because my attention was divided between staring at the TV and staring at the doll...until the doll's head slowly rotated and stared back. I didn't even turn the TV off. I ran past my grandmother and her friend. I got to my room, climbed into bed, and under the covers. Even as a teenager, I refused to go into that room.
I found out later that my mother and two aunts had seen the doll move also---one even walked out of the room and returned a few minutes later to find the doll standing against the opposite wall. My grandmother thought we were all crazy. When I left for school, my grandmother was left alone in the house. One day she called my mom and told her to come get the doll....that something was odd about it, that she felt something evil whenever was around it. My mom threw it in a shed at her house. A storm took the shed down a few weeks later and no one ever saw the doll again.
Wonderful series, Chris. Thanks so much for sharing them here.
