Reminds me of the Twilight Zone.
"My name is Talky Tina, and I'm going to kill you."

~Thanimal

Have you ever seen any of the "Child's Play" movies? They're about a doll owned by a little boy that comes alive and murders a lot of people. Been a while since I've seen them, but if I remember right, the doll was possessed by the soul of a serial killer who was killed by a police officer. There ended up being three or four of the movies, and in one the killer's girlfriend (also a murderer) ends up possessing a female doll, and the dolls get married!

I remember the Twilight Zone episode (it starred Telly Savalas) and the Chuckie movies. I hated them...because I grew up with a doll that was very scary and known to move by itself. The doll was designed to stand on its own and was about 2ft tall. My grandmother treated as if it were a child. She made clothes for it and changed the clothes often.

When we got a color TV, the B&W one was moved to the room where the doll resided. One night I was forced to watch TV in that room while my grandmother visited with a friend in the den. The doll stood two or three feet from the TV and was looking at the wall to my right. I had a strange feeling that night and couldn't concentrate on the TV program because my attention was divided between staring at the TV and staring at the doll...until the doll's head slowly rotated and stared back. I didn't even turn the TV off. I ran past my grandmother and her friend. I got to my room, climbed into bed, and under the covers. Even as a teenager, I refused to go into that room.

I found out later that my mother and two aunts had seen the doll move also---one even walked out of the room and returned a few minutes later to find the doll standing against the opposite wall. My grandmother thought we were all crazy. When I left for school, my grandmother was left alone in the house. One day she called my mom and told her to come get the doll....that something was odd about it, that she felt something evil whenever was around it. My mom threw it in a shed at her house. A storm took the shed down a few weeks later and no one ever saw the doll again.

Wow, that is a scary story! These dolls were friendly, they just wanted to be loved again.
