More info about New 14 and 18-55

Wow. These look incredible. The zoom weighs 330g so is mega-lightweight, and looks to be really small too.
Note the depth of field scale on the 21mm lens too. The more I see from the X system the more I lean into buying it.

Oooo! Focusing distance scale on the 14mm! This means only one thing: No need to rotate the focusing ring hundred times as in the other Fuji lenses!! Perhaps the engineers are working to "upgrade" the existing fixed focal length lenses into this design..

It would really be great news to have those lenses function like the AF-SLR lenses do manually and with focusing distance scale, just like the M lenses (and one day to introduce XP2 with fast AF like the OM-D :))

I tried out an xpro in a camera store yesterday with the 35/1.4. Store was dark, and it was rainy outside. I focused on every small dark object i could find and not the slightest problem. Focusing was quick every time.

Am curious about focusing scale though. There is one on the x100, at the bottom of the EVF that imo makes scale focusing very easy. Is there one also on the xpro1? I didnt notice one yesterday during my brief tryout.

Yep there is one, just gotta specify that it shows in the OVF in the menu, and then to turn it on and off you just cycle the view mode.

I wonder how long it will be until info on the 55-200 comes out. I’m intrigued by how it would work with this system and what the details are.

I'm excited about the focus scale on the newer 14mm too. I'm actually hoping the focusing ring has physical stops so you can feel where the long and short end are, instead of like modern SLR USM/HSM lenses that infinitely spins.

Hopefully Fuji also will have focus scale on the 23mm 1.4 (with a focusing tab!) and create a "MkII" version of the 35mm 1.4 (I would double dip into that lens if they did).

Focus scale and f stop dof marks on all their new lens would be the icing on the cake.
