That looks like Rembrantsplein on the right, correct? I remember it fondly: it's where I'd go find my stolen bike and buy it back for $10. Had the same bike stolen three times. Each time I found it for sale there. apparently this is an A'dam tradition.

I been on the look out for one of these camera's since I 1st read about them in Shutterbug a few years back. Olympus made so many versions of these P&S & I bought a 115 zoom at Goodwill. Not as good as the mjuII. What do I look for when hunting for this gem? I'm kinda confused as what I need to look for in the states.

Hi,
There's a picture of one further back at post number 19 but it has a bit of th cover removed. It shows what the sliding lens cover is like and that's the key to it.
Or try here: http://www.wrotniak.net/photo/stylus/index.html

Thanks David for the info, really helps clear up with the mystic of this camera. I'll be watching for one in the thrift stores.

Olympus Stylus Epic (NA version)

or
Olympus MJU II (all other markets?)

I know this because I've been thinking of picking one up. Looking over some old photos I realized how nice/fun it was to shoot with the Contax T3 I had for years. I don't feel like spending that money however.

mju II is great, but mju III is not bad

I don't use it all that much, but I do love the Mju II. It's a handy thing to keep slotted in the pocket of my bag for when I don't want to bother with load/wind/meter/remember exposure/set exposure/focus/compose/shoot (Leica IIIa).

My shaky fingers couldn't deal with the mju-II I bought for two bucks, but it came in handy in the Christmas Giveaway here on RFf.

My Olympus Mju was my wife's camera when the children were small. I use it now for beach holidays, on the beach and even in the water. I have often wondered what lenses I would have used in 1996 when I visited Charleston SC. I now realize it was the Olympus Mju. Must find those pictures.

Hi,
If it's any use to any one I'll add that I've tried a lot of Olympus cameras over the last 50 years and I rate them all very highly. At times I'll rate them higher than Leica's lenses but I can afford the best from Olympus (like the Zuiko f/1.4 50mm and even the FourThirds 50mm macro) but can't afford or justify buying Leica's best.
A lot of people get wound up about the differences between the mju-I and mju-II but really they are slight. The II has spot metering and a faster lens but we all know that the slower one is no slouch. And f/3.5 when made by Olympus is brilliant.
Better still, you can find them for a couple of pounds if you look: that's about three US dollars or less in Euros.
If you like them with a zoom lens then look for the Olympus Stylus Zoom 80 Wide DLX which goes from 28mm to 80mm and isn't at f/11 at the 80mm setting.

I love the Infinity Stylus and have more than one; however, the worldwide mju I can be had in a panorama version which is switchable mid-roll. As far as I know the Infinity Stylus never had that feature. Neat!
