With my 4000ED, I have been running NS and Snow Leopard successfully for some time, even though Nikon says it doesn't support OS X.
However, all that success has been with the MA-20 and the FH-3 film strip holder. If instead, I use the SA-21 strip film adapter, the software just hangs, going through noisy cycles forever.
I originally thought the SA-21 was defective, so I sent the 4000ED and SA-21 to Nikon for repair. I'll skip a lot of details about the (unsatisfactory) interaction with Nikon and simply say that they found nothing wrong. I subsequently ran the combo with Leopard (on another machine) rather than Snow Leopard and all was fine. So, it seems that on my (iMac) machine, the combination of Snow Leopard and the SA-21 is a no go.
I did go to Vuescan, however, and that combination worked without a hitch.
Hence, a couple of questions:
Has anyone successfully run NS with the SA-21? And if so, any special wisdom to impart?
In Vuescan, the Preview showed that the frames were not aligned properly (not so in NS). I could not find instructions anywhere for shifting the frame position. How is this problem handled?
Appreciate your input,
Harry
