I've noticed a problem with my New Moskva 5... the 1/250 of a second is running at 1/100! .. I don't feel the normal extra force required for the higher speed... any advice?

Just a guess...since it's the strongest spring, I wouldn't think dirty shutter...I'd suspect broken spring. Supposedly a copy of a Compur shutter. My luck is so bad opening shutters, I'd go for repair. I have heard 1/250 of those is typ. about 1/200

Anything > 1/100, on any shutter of that type will never really be nominal..
comp_, maybe your spring is just blocked ? or maybe it just lost it's tension completely if the camera was stored in 1/250th...

There is an additional spring activated in Compur-type shutters at 1/250. It probably have disengaged in some way (giving you an honest 1/100, the speed without extra spring). So I would say the shutter needs overahul.. you now have a good opportunity to learn what a work of art is Compur shutter

That's okay....it's already been returned back in July or August...
I ended up with a kiev 88, which nice for my requirements.
