Hi Folks,
I've just purchased my first Medium format camera, a Moskva 5, of a certain auction site. The camera is in excellent condition, the case leather looks brand new. The camera itself shows very little corrosion for its and and the assembly is tight.
Having read through the manual before I used it I've started testing the shutter. There seems to be a problem with the shutter release button not springing back up after the shutter has been fired. I have to push the black leaver down on the front bottom right side of the lens and sometime even pull the button back up.
Although I can take pictures with it unfortunately I will not be able to use the B setting as manually closing the shutter will cause shake.
Is this a problem anyone else has seen? I saw the strip down guide on the Kiev Survival site but it does not cover the shutter release spring.
How much does it cost to get a Vintage camera CLA-ed in the UK / London? It may just need a little maintaining and I would rather not bodge it up myself. Anyone have any recommendations, I need to try and estimate the cost of putting this right vs sending it back to the Ukraine (if I can).
Thanks for any advice. I'm getting excited about being back into film.
Rich.
