Hi Folks,
I've just purchased my first Medium format camera, a Moskva 5, of a certain auction site. The camera is in excellent condition, the case leather looks brand new. The camera itself shows very little corrosion for its and and the assembly is tight.
Having read through the manual before I used it I've started testing the shutter. There seems to be a problem with the shutter release button not springing back up after the shutter has been fired. I have to push the black leaver down on the front bottom right side of the lens and sometime even pull the button back up.
Although I can take pictures with it unfortunately I will not be able to use the B setting as manually closing the shutter will cause shake.
Is this a problem anyone else has seen? I saw the strip down guide on the Kiev Survival site but it does not cover the shutter release spring.
How much does it cost to get a Vintage camera CLA-ed in the UK / London? It may just need a little maintaining and I would rather not bodge it up myself. Anyone have any recommendations, I need to try and estimate the cost of putting this right vs sending it back to the Ukraine (if I can).
Thanks for any advice. I'm getting excited about being back into film.
Rich.

I've had good luck with a few of the Mockva-5's that I purchased from the Ukraine. Get
back in touch with them. Have you checked to make sure it's not just the shutter actuating
binding up ? Try cocking the shutter and tripping the shutter right on the lens assembly. If
you have no luck, then PM me. Peter

If it was described as working camera and they accept returns send it back.
I purchased one, in 2013. In brand new condition. Like nobody ever used it.
The reason. Dead RF patch and film plate installed upsidedown.
BTW, Moskva-5 back door seems to have more light leaks and they are not so easy to fix. It less noticeable with ISO100, but with ISO400 film.

Some lighter fluid with care not to run in the shutter leaves could do the trick.
