Most Used Lens?

I'm primarily an SLR guy, but I'm thinking about buying an X-Pro1 as a "walking around" camera - some architecture, some people, some who knows. Any lens recommendations? I'm looking for a prime only & will only be buying 1 lens. Thanks for any help!

I have the 14, 35, 60 and 55-200, but I'm a traditionalist and use the 35/1.4 the most. Back in the day there wasn't any situation the 50mm couldn't handle. Well, almost.

If I were only going out with one lens and wanted versatility, I would carry an X100, or X100S. It also sounds like coming from a DSLR, you are looking for something compact.
The 23mm focal length is useful/versatile for people, places and even some architectural use. The 23 f1.4 is a great lens but significantly larger. The X100 should do everything you need.

I like the 18mm f/2 as my walk about lens.... I find it is better for buildings, inside or outside shots.

and if like candid street or any candid, the dof is deep enough even at f/4 for most shots.

What do you generally like most? We can't answer that for you... However, the 14mm, 23mm, 35mm, and 56mm seem to be the most loved IQ wise with the 18mm and 27mm being most liked for the compact size.

From all the very good lenses I use on my Fujis, the 1.4/35 is the best one.

Forgot to mention..

On the xp1, the most used lens is the 35f1.4 followed by the 14f2.8. The 27 gets used the most overall on the xe1. The xe1 plus 27 gets grabbed the most though lately.

For architecture the 14/2.8 is outstanding. It is highly rectilinear and creates crisp , detailed images.

Thanks, everyone, for your input! I hadn't even thought ablut the X-E1. I think I'm going to try to borrow them both (X100 & X-E1) & see which I prefer.
