Leica LTM Mountain Elmar 10.5 cm 1:6,3 on ebay (UK)

Leica M39 screw mount bodies/lenses
Red Dot, in the UK, have had one for sale (£699) for over twelve months now.

This may be interesting or not, but if I understood correctly what was said at the time, I got the red curtain iiic that that lens was coupled with at a really good price because all he was interested in was the lens. He obviously thought the profit was to be made on the lens. It will be interesting to see what the one on Ebay goes for in the end.

I think I mainly want it because it is a pre-war Leica lens and thus has a place in my collection of lenses, and second because of the 'coolness' factor of it's shape and rarity.

I have no idea what to expect from it image-wise. I imagine that the largest aperture at f/6.3 would limit it's usefulness somewhat. (Not a problem in the mountains I would assume, lots of bright light).

I'm sure I'm not missing out on too much with my 90mm f/4 Elmar and 135mm f/4.5 Hektor 😉

Only thing I don't like about mine is that it close focuses to about 9ft. It is a cool looking lens though!

It actually produces excellent results...but then with a specification as limited as that you'd expect it to.

They used to be very cheap...but wasn't everything?
