It's normal to stay with one filter size and use w/ step-up rings on lenses with smaller diameter. if you are willing to use on 5000 filters with screw diameter larger than 46mm via step-up ring, you will find that ring with filter thread is inside another ring...well, barrel, which protrudes further than inner ring - that's important. After securing step-up ring it locks speed selection ring because outer barrel is pressed by step-up ring. So I'm looking for 46mm yellow.
Funny though that I missed point before purchasing. OK, step-up ring will get use on another lenses.
In a word, what works on SLR doesn't exactly fits another systems.

I actually use some 58 mm filters on mine and just hold them over the lens barrel. It's certainly less convenient than keeping it screwed on there, but I don't typically use filters all that often.

Same conclusion in 35RC thread - some just keep filter by hand.
As for 5000 with step ring - well, it tightens speed ring, but in conditions with even light speed/aperture also will be same...almost same.
