"Does anyone know of a great 40-45mm ltm lens?"
Hi Richard -- Pentax made a limited edition 43mm f/1.9 in Leica thread mount as well as for the Pentax K bayonet. Only 2000 of these were made; 800 silver finish and 1200 black, so I understand, so they're not terribly common. They're also not particularly compact, the optics having been designed for an SLR's backfocus. This is a very fine lens, though I detect a hint of barrel distortion.

I just added a duplicate lens: an 85 f2 to go with the 90 f4. The reason is fairly clear: the fast lens is big and heavy but perfect for tighter indoor low light portraits, the slower lens is lighter and easier to carry around during the day.

c'mon frank, be honest. you just wanted some of that fine canon glass.
you're young & strong, you could carry that canon all day.
get rid of that wimpy f4 lens!
you still have my address right?

Don't you go bad mouthin' that 90mm F4 Elmar that I sent to Frank! That is one great lens. It yields something modern lenses do not: Pleasing Photographs. Sharp enough, catches the detail, small and light. We had been doing the proxy EBay bidding for a while on a new Canon 50mm F1.5 BUTT for a while and they always got away. I picked up a nice Canon 50 F1.5 this weekend, way too nice and too expensive to part out. So now I will either have spares for it, or likely aggresively go after a beat-up F1.5 for parts. Or hack a new rear onto it and use it on the SLR's.
Frank, Which 85 did you get?
