Multiple Scanner / Software Compatibility Question

I'll be borrowing a Minolta Dimage Scan Elite II and plan to buy an Epson 750. I'll be scanning from Windows XP. Should I use the software that comes with each scanner respectively, or can I use the Silverfast Ai and other software that comes along with the 750 with the Minolta, or vice versa? Is Vuescan an even better option? Looking for the best possible combination that will provide the user-friendliest environment while allowing each scanner to function to its limits. Thanks

:)

Alex has summed it well...

Silverfast Ai is scanner specific but can be switched to a different scanner for a fee. I don't like the Silverfast pricing models but have Ai for both my KM5400 and Epson V700 - an expensive investment in software that I wouldn't have done had I not considered Ai to be the best for my needs.

Vuescan is cheaper, portable across scanners and very popular.

Silverfast and Vuescan can be downloaded as trials and I recommend you try them out. Scanning software is a personal thing and only you can determine what works for you.
