I recently had a positive experience buying a camera from MW Classics in London and thought I should pass on the details.
I had an urge to try a Canon barnack inspired camera for the first time and found a good selection on the MW Classics website. Their prices seemed very reasonable and their descriptions quite comprehensive, so after a phone call I agreed to buy a iv SB model which my friend would collect when she was next in the Islington area.
The following Friday when my friend called to collect it, I received a very apologetic call from the proprietor to say that the camera had already been sold by mistake, but that he was anxious to make amends by offering me an alternative one from his stock at an advantageous price. I was happy to accept his explanation, particularly since no payment had exchanged hands, and I settled on a deal for a iid model which seemed a far better deal than the one originally agreed.
I'm still eagerly waiting to see the camera because I haven't seen my London friend for a while, but I was struck by the helpful and friendly response from MW Classics. I hope to visit them next time I'm in London and look forward to viewing their stock.
