Just as an FYI
My 27mm stopped working yesterday. Here are something's I tried already
- menu reset to default
- turn on and off camera several times and several different intervals (max about 16 hours between tries)
- remove battery on xe1 for a minute - where this problem first occurred
- mount lens on xp1
- mount different lens (35f1.4) on xe1 - works fine
I think either something is binding the af mechanism or the af motor died... :bang: Anyway sent off a note to Anthony at pop flash today (where I bought it about a month ago). Hopefully they will be able to figure what is wrong.

Well lesson learned. Keep the original box for at least a couple of months
.
Pop flash has a 7 day return policy, but Anthony told me that if I still had the original box he could have sent it back as defective lens and replace it.
Long story short, Fuji repair says it sounds like a bad lens so send it into them. They don't have any replacement lenses at the repair facility, so I am going to have to wait for repair

what?
It is under warranty (Fuji eats the replacement costs?) and the problem is the long wait . . . a pain though, true.
Good to update the story as time goes by.

Bummer!
Fuji has their fair share of hickups that's for sure.
At least they seem to be quite willing and capable of making repairs.
Best of Luck!

I got my lens back today. Looks like they replaced it. They did not say what was wrong. I sent it in last week. They spent about a day looking at it and I got a replacement lens.
Could be my imagination but it sounds louder then the old one.

Gary-
Fuji seems to really be great on repairs.
I bet the louder sound is what my wife and I call the "contractor effect."
When you have a contractor do some work in your house, you notice all sorts of things once he's done and think maybe "his guys" wrecked this or that...just a notch up in your awareness more likely than anything else
Glad it's back...it's really a fun lens to use ... No lens shade, no flare...what's not to like

Great that you have it back promptly. But ...
Really: you throw away the packaging for new lenses? I always save the packaging. It generally nets a quicker sale, and sometimes a higher price, when I go to sell stuff.
