After using my Bessa L with my CV 25mm/24 fora while, I got a Bessa T. Then the L was put aside. My only CV lens, 25mm/4 did not exite me sufficiently to use the Bessa L. Eventually, I dug up my old Canon FD 7.5mm SLR lens, and suddenly my Bessa L has a new life.

I got a door viewer from Loewe's hardware store, and I used superglue to get a fisheye viewer with flash accessory attachment. I will use the set-up today. Until now I have been just holding the fisheye door viewer to my eyes, recompose, and the took photos. Now, I can take photos hopefully better with the new set-up.

By the way, I used a Canon B adapter to attach the Canon FD lens to the Bessa L. The 7.5mm lens does not allow any focusing. It has immense DOF, and it has as max aperture 5.6.

I used a Zeiss [heavy] base that I found with some unused flash bracket, and then I used superglue over night. It feels rock solid to me. The TTL metering in the Bessa L is a plus. The heavy lens is OK on a very light camera body. It keeps the set manageable. I may use the built-in red filter next time with B&W film.

That's a cool looking set-up.

Frank: They had a much smaller and less expensive fish eye door viewer, but this heavy brass one looked cooool to me!

Brilliant Raid, absolutely brilliant ... I wonder if I can mount a bessaL+fisheye directly on my door under the viewer so I can take lots of portraits (friends, relatives, neighboors, sellers etc etc ...) ... do you think this would start some doors gas attack?
Out of joke, you really had a great idea and - you already know - I like the results you get from that fisheye.
Ciao

Thanks, Nico. I once paid $200 in trade for this fisheye lens. I had a camera store in Virginia sell for me a Mamiya RB67 set, and when we squared away the finances, I was also given a mintish Contarex Bullseye camera with the 50/2 Blitz Planar and this fisheye lens.

Your idea of having at the door a fisheye lens iwith camera s actually in practice in many places.

This fisheye lens allows me to break away from monotone lenses day after day. It either gives a strange looking image or a very interesting one.

Cheers,

I see your point, it must be a fun to use it.
Ciao 🙂

The door viewer was suggested to me on RFF, and I just took it one step farther with the superglue and stuff.
