Hi All,
I've finally got it, and it looks and feels great! It weighs a ton, but it is a true Lightsucker f1.5. The glass and overall finish are -fine-. Can't wait to get out there, it's getting dark here, so it might have to be tommorrow. Really like how it balances on M5. Here are my three Canon lenses, the 35mm f2, the 50mm f1.2, and -now- the 85mm fl.5:

Congrats!
The Canon T-60-2 hood is good match for the lens visually. Quite a treasure trove of lenses you have there!
Looking forward to your images soon!
Cheers,

Cheers,
Thanks! Used it a bit yesterday on M2, it -is- a heavy beast. Shooting 1/1000 at f1.5 with 5231 Plus-X Movie Stock at EI 80. The hood intrudes about 1/3 into the 90mm frame on my cameras, so I'm keeping my eye out for the original Vented Canon Hood. GoKevin has one at $175, but Brooklyn Camera has one they might sell seperately, priced currently with an 85mm f1.5 at $595. I'm going to call them today, you never know.
Very cool lens! Taking it back out today.

You might try heavy2stars on ebay. He has a lot of new vented hoods that are CHEAP! If he doesn't have the exact size you need, you can use a step-up ring to get there. He sells those too.

Thanks for that. I've been talking to Raid about this lens. We both like ours. It's much heavier than my 90 Summicron, but of course, my Summicron is not an f1.5 . Good thing I switched to a wider Domke camera strap!

I'll check out that option, Thanks!

After talking to Kevin at GoKevinCamera, I decided to order an original Canon 85mm F1.5 Lenshood to go on this lens.
Does anybody know where I can get an original Canon Red filter for this lens? I assume they offered one. Just found a yellow one today. My Skylight one came in a bakelite case, marked for the Canon 85mm f1.5

I think the 85mm uses a 58mm filter. Plenty of red ones from third party makers.
However, unlike the lenses from the same era, the original 85mm hood does not seem to take the Series VII filters as I can't see any filter adaptor. Does that mean that for this particular lens, Canon was using screw in filters?
Cheers,

Yes, my two original Canon 85mm f1.5 filters are 58mm screw-ins, of the Canon "slim-line" variety. The 85mm f1,5 hood (Kevin says there is only one kind) friction-fits over the slim-line filter. Same basic setup as with my 50mm f1.2 .
Here's the filter on the lens. Wear marks on the end of the barrel indicate to me that this lens has has the original hood for a while:

I thought the 50mm f/1.2 hood was a clamp on? Mine is. But I do know some of the older hoods are friction fit or slip on. Like the 50mm f/1.9.
Anyway, congratulations to acquiring the correct accessories to put together a complete set for the Canon 85mm f/1.5 LTM. I'm so green with envy at this point in time. I would love to play with this lens wide open at close focus! Perhaps this lens will pop up again when my finances are permitting.
Cheers,

To me, only the lens is important. Everything else is a "cosmetic" add-on.

Of course you're right, my 50mm hood is a clamp-on. But the 85mm hood is a friction-fit. Kevin says Canon only made one kind throughout the years.
I enjoy having the original accessories for the lenses I own. When I finally do acquire them, then I have the pleasure of using them as they were intended. I'll be selling the T-60-2 Hood; it's useful, but intrudes about 1/3 into the viewfinder on both of my cameras, which is a bit more than I care for.
For me, since I like the 50mm Canon vented hood, it makes sense to get the one for the 85mm. Kevin seems to be the only dealer that has them!

I like having original accessories too, but when they are outrageously expensive I opt for a cheaper alternative.

Biggest vented hood I've found is 46mm. I have one of those already. What other alternatives?

Whoa! The original hood is here. Very minimal viewfinder blockage detected. Worth every penny, IMO. Here, M2 checks it out:

Hey Benny,
Nope it dosen't reverse, at least with the filter on. it does take a generic 77mm Snap-On, which I scarfed off my 50mm f1.2 Hood. Have to get another from American Eagle.
Check out the 58mm Canon Y1, in the Canon 85mm f1.5 Bakelite case. Not bad for $20, Eh?

My new 85mm f1.5 (and my new 35mm f2) are now at Essex Camera Repair. The 85mm has a sticky helical, and the 35mm has a bit of play in it. Should be getting them both back late this week, and then, it's out again to play with this stuff.
