Thanks to Jason Schneider, that black F3/T bought new in 1988 was my first Nikon and is what activated my interest in Nikon.
Yes, they all get used to make photos.

Yes, with an MB-1 pack and MD-1 drive.
Also, I stopped at the F4; the last Nikon with traditional controls (aside from the FM3a).
These days F4's are total bargains.
The F5 and F6 controls are like those of a digital camera. I have a D700 and really dislike its controls. A Nikon Df would be more like a digital F4.

Very nice looking F2AS! I agree with you regarding the controls of the F5 and F6. Only reason I got the F5 was because I got a great deal on it some time ago. It's nearly identical to the Nikon D1X.
The last Nikon film camera I purchased was an F100. It too feels very similar to a modern dslr. It lacks the film rewind knob & crank found on traditional film bodies. The few times I used it I was always second guessing myself if I had loaded/rewound the film correctly or not. 😀

Four Generations of Robert K. Michaels: My dad, Robert K. Michaels, was a civil engineer who designed many of central Florida flood control structures. He designed this dam in central Florida shorty before his death in 1965 which was named the Michaels dam in his honor.
Now, there is his son Robert K. Michaels, Jr. (Bob or me), his grandson Robert K. Michaels, III (Rob) and his great grandson Robert K. Michaels IV (Kent). I hired and paid a professional photographer for the shoot. Interesting collaboration with me as the director and her as the photographer.

Rangefinders S2,S3,SP then SLRs F,F2,F3,F4,F5,F6
Slight cheat as I left the motor drives off the F2 and F3 ( I don't have an F36 drive) and added the grip to the F6.
Whilst everything else seems to get smaller the cameras get bigger.
