My personal favourite is this one: _Amsterdam from above_.
Zeiss Planar T* 50/2 ZM with 715nm IR filter. f4. iso200. Exposure time unknown (too lazy to look it up, really). Overexposed by 2 stops in-camera, another 1.5-2 stops in PhotoRAW. White balance selected by me.

Here is one of my early attempts in this arena. Not in the same category as your posts, but I'm working on IR thing.
Goshen Reservoir, CV 28 1.9 F8 and don't remember the shutter speed.

IR photography is great. I wish I encountered it earlier. But I'm glad I found out about it anyway. I'm especially glad my R-D1 is so capable of doing IR, even UV.

Not monochrome. I just select whatever white balance I want. One shot can thus result in a gazillion different "prints".

Daniel, I just used a Hoya R72 filter. You'll need to monkey around with the shutter speed, but I got my best results between f4 and f8.
Remy or Phil:
Have either of you done any UV. The Tiffen UV filter is not easy to get hold of. If you have, please post so I can see the possibilities. Thanks.

May I jump into that discussion with a stupid question - I can make IR photography with the R-D1 without removing the IR protection (hot filter or whatever)? Just screw a R72 or 76 filter on the lens and try out with ISO, apertures and speeds? Thanks for any advice

Didier, no need to make ANY adjustments to the camera. Just slap a filter on the lens.

Vivek, a nice man for sure, lives here in Holland and contacted me to ask for a test ride with the R-D1. He wanted to see the UV and IR capabilities of the R-D1. On our first shot we came to the conclusion that the R-D1 is more than capable in both UV and IR.
He planted the IR bug in me, and he fed it by sending me gratis a home made 715nm IR filter.
Vivek is also deeply involved in UV photography. Contact him and see how he solves such problems as unavailable (or hugely expensive) filters.

I picked up the b+w IR filter 093 and have been messing around a bit.. I'm having to shoot ISO 400.. 2.8 @ 1/15 to get a halfway decent exposure in mid-day sun, and have to crank it to iso 1600 to get anything later in the day.. Of course I forgot my card reader so I'm just using the screen to make exposure guesses..

I got a Hoya R72 - works great. Also an SRB custom resin filter which is advertised as being a 750, but it leaks red and I don't like it as much.Didier said:
Best results for me: colour - use RAW and adjust white balance to taste. B/w - I find the green channel gives best contrast (red channel gets easily washed out) either using monochrome/green filter setting or using PS channel mixer. Green channel needs a couple of stops more exposure than the red, though. It's not that good for hand held work.
ps - since I often am shooting wide open, I have to remember to adjust the focus for IR. If there isn't an IR index on the lens, focusing as normal, and then turning the focus ring til the set distance is between the 4 and 5.6 DOF markers will work pretty well on most lenses I've tried.

I'll try the B+W filters as they're available in the sizes I'm looking for - 39mm for Skopars/Summicrons, 46mm for 'lux, and 72mm for the Heliar 15mm filter adapter I have from Wilco Jansen (the crazy dutch that mounts super-angulons on Fuji 690 cameras). Daniel you may use the 092 for situations in lower light - this one has 650-700nm only. As I intend to do landscape IR shooting, so I'll prefer the 093 and use it with ISO200 and a tripod.
BTW the Germany based €pay seller oezcang has B+W 092, 093 and 099 in almost all sizes for a fraction of the Hoya prices.
