Ive finally decided which FSU camera I like best. My Zorki 1 !! The reason is you have to remove the bottom,set it in a safe place,set the camera on a soft surface, pull the take up spool,insert the leader, slip both film cartridge and spool into the camera via business card, wind on to check that it "takes", replace bottom,set frame counter, pull out collapsible lens, take meter reading with handheld and compensate for filter factor,remove filter and set f-stop,replace filter,wind to first frame,set shutter speed, hold to eye and focus on subject,switch eyepieces to frame subject,...............snap picture.
Ive noticed that when I look through my pictures , I always seem to like the ones taken with the Z1 the best, all that work makes you appreciate the shot more , sort of like"mission accomplished".

Oh hear hear! When rooting through the camera cupboard wondering which one to take somewhere it is strange how often the Zorki 1 sticks to my hand. I too love the look of the images I get from it and I get lots of pleasure from the handling. It's just the right size for my hands and has few controls, leaving the briain free to think about pictures. Must admit, I get the same from the Zorki 4k/Jupiter 8. Must admit that having owned a Leica M6 for a few months now, it is beginning to worm its way into my affections in just the same way.

Yeah all those other cameras are cool too, its just that confounding "fiddly" nature of the Z1 that makes it so charming!
