The M2 with tabbed 50mm Summicron was my main workhorse this summer camp. I got to know the camera and this would be the real test for my new M system. I brought along an SLR/DSLR for action/test shooting and a wider range of focal lengths.

In 2.5 weeks I shot about a dozen rolls of film. Too many different films I had to process in too little time, so I'll have to shoot more digital and shoot less different films. I'm quite happy with the results - for me the M2/50mm is the ultimate go-anywhere camera that's very reliable. I might look into getting a second lens.

Enough chit-chat, let's see some photos:

The compression or scanning on your photos looks pretty bad. (No the photos themselves, as they are great) but i dont know what it is. I'm seeing 'posterization'. What quality settings did you save out or files as?

scans (minolta dual scan III, 1410dpi) edited with the GIMP, resized by irfanview (JPG resampling, 85% quality). a bit of sharpening, here and there in the GIMP

hmm... it seems to be only one or two of the images seem to have a strange 'tonality' which i think is from computer processing maybe? I dont know.

Some great shots though. 🙂
