First off, I would like to thank each one of you who provided such valuable advice on selecting a Rollei.

That thread is a must read for anyone trying to figure out how to pick one.

I went thru every single local . . . hunting for one.

My final choice was the original 'Rollei 35' with a Tessar lens, made in Singapore, in total mint condition, with box, instructions, strap, case, etc.
(Most important of all, meter on top, not inside the finder, perfect for street photography)

The old price sticker was even on the box, it said 'Brown Photo, USD149'.

I even managed to find a collector's boxed Rollei 35 Classic in Platinium (I think)?
Guy was asking for HKD11,000 (about USD1,400) Geeez
I think it will stay there for quite a while, wait till me win the lotto.

Here are the first pics:

Thank you guys . . . you are awesome!

Neat, Manfred. I like particularly the first one -- maybe would have preferred a blank wall instead of all the writing, but I like the steps and the placement of the people.

Funny thing . . . I've never used a roll of B&W

I never put a roll of color in my Rollie 35. I will have to try it out.

Funny thing . . . I've never used a roll of B&W for the past 5-6 years.
They charge extra here to develop it.
Takes about 3 days to return . . . instead of the usual 20 mins for color.
It's a pain.

Could not bother to do it at home.

Anyway here's some images from my weekend hike.
