Gentlepeople,

Greetings and salutations.

I'm the fellow who just purchased the lovely IIIf RD ST w/Elmar from
haagen_daz in a very smooth transction. I'm a fortunate fellow
and very happy with my lovely new camera. This is my first Leica,
purchased for my use, pride of ownership and, yes, probably fondling.
Using and fondling aren't mutually exclusive are they?

Stumbled upon RFF indulging my Leica curiosity. I'm impressed with the
friendly talented people here and the mature, civilized atmosphere.

Photographically, I am outclassed here the way a BB gun is outclassed
by a bazooka. Fact is, I've hardly taken any pix in several years, really
don't have anything to show, much less the scanner & know-how to do so.

To my credit: developed and printed my first roll from a toy kit
unsupervised at age 12; senior year I shot most of my H.S. yearbook with a
Yashica -Mat and a Strobonar (a disaster); I've set up a couple of home darkrooms
in my time and owned, separately two Leitz Focomats. I've done some assisting
years ago. I own, in addition to the Leica: an FA, FG, 4 Nikkors, an Agfa Record,
an Olympus 35RC and a Sekonic. Have also owned a Petri, an Electro, a
Mamiya C330 kit and an FTn.

I am composed of 99% inert ingredients but I'll be hanging out here,
listening & learning.

Thanks for everything & being a cool forum.

Welcome and greetings

Welcome and greetings

You will enjoy these people and learn a great deal. Have fun with the bottom loader and post photos when you can. I'm sure it'll be fun for all.🙂

Welcome f8&go! You got a lovely camera, I was just admiring it in the Classifieds. Maybe someplace near you can scan film to CD? Then you can post here 🙂

Welcome to the forum, soon you'll find it difficult to have a life outside of RF's 😀

hehe thank you. took it with a dSLR.. and tweaked my raw files... errr 😛 maybe its too digital for the film guys around here hahaa 😀 😀

One day, Mark I may be forced to understand what "tweaking a raw file" means. For now it sounds slightly obscene, must be my "famous" English sense of humour😀

Thanks again, everyone.

Camera looks as good in reality as in Marks pix.

Feels good, very good too. I'm hoping to use this
camera's relative liabilites (slow lens, squinty finders)
to my benefit to force me more toward
"image" and a little away from "camera."

Lighter, quieter & more fun to carry (more likely
to be on hand) than the slr's but more lens versatility
than my Oly 35 RC. We'll see. Could all be BS rationalization!
Might try moving toward very high speed films with this too.
