After seeing this little unit, I might have to switch to SLRs. Russian "Sport" ~ Check it out.

Only FSU could make something already somewhat complicated into a ridiculously complicated piece of photographic equipment
I mean who would use something like that unless it was their only option?

Fascinating. It appears that the shutter dial is concentric with the film wind. It also has a direct vision finder. Neither of which can be difficult to use. I can't see it being any harder to drive than any other SLR of the era.

I'm not there
I think ive fiddled around with one of those. The shutter button was VERY sensitive.

Yeah, that would kinda be like me trying to fly a helicopter with one eye tied behind my back... piece o' cake.Adam-T said:Wow yeah - talk about multicontrol, Shutter speed, Winder, Shutter release and film counter all on one knob ! ..
Anyway, thought you guys would enjoy. It's the first one I've seen. Price = "quite rare" . Yikes!

As Eugene points out, this was the very first 35mm SLR, so it needs to be given due respect for that achievement. That said, if anyone is using one today, they really enjoy doing things the hard way.

The reason I brought it to our attention by starting this thread is because I genuinely found it quite interesting. Certainly no disrespect intended. My point was, I can't drive a Point-n-Shoot without training wheels. My wife says I'm all thumbs even on my feet! Handed something that's a little from the norm (which I think this Sport qualifies) would be quite challenging to me. "...they really enjoy doing things the hard way." That's usually the way it turns out with me, whether I enjoy it or not. Cheers.

A store here has a couple of them (yes, I was amazed that they did, but... they do!) and at a more reasonable price (still bit of nonsense price but hey that's a collection piece... no?). Let me know if you want me to check the price tag again, it's on my way from work.
