My Kodachromes arrived..

These are some photos from my holiday in Sweden. They have on the whole turned out alot better than the ones from South Africa, probably because the sun was less harsh and they weren't effected by lens flare.. Anyways, heres two ones I'm happy with...

Ain't Kodachrome grand?

In some 50 years, you'll still be able to view and even project these slides. And the warm tones (kind of the Kodachrome trademark) make these photos particularly endearing... I like the shadow interplay in both.

Not to (further) slam digital, but in 50 years will you even be able to read any of today's digital media?

The more I look at Kodachrome slides, the more I like Kodachrome. In kind of a strange deal I just ended up with 3 more rolls of Kodachrome 64, and I'm looking forward to shooting with it. 🙂 Yes, there is a warmth to the images, but nothing un-natural.

If you find a working bulb for a working projector!

I can't get one for my fathers Leitz projector from 1957, the type which has a carrier for two slides so you can change one while showing the other.

no kidding, Socke.. I was given an old Argus projector and the bulb burned out the first time I used it

Well, the good thing about slide projection is that it is really not that difficult of a technology to reproduce. All it really is is a putting the slide between a very bright light and a focusing lens. Any good electrician could surely make a newer bulb fit in one of the older projectors.
